The FAQ
Do you Travel?
Absolutely. I’m based between the Texas Hill Country and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, but I’m available for weddings and elopements worldwide. Destination travel is always welcome—just reach out for a custom quote.
How long have you been doing this?
I’ve been photographing weddings since 2013 and have documented more than 250 weddings throughout my career. That means I’ve seen just about everything—changing weather, difficult light, shifting timelines, intimate ceremonies, huge celebrations, and weddings in all kinds of environments. That experience has taught me how to adapt, work with whatever nature or the day gives us, and still create something beautiful.
How many photos do we get?
Every wedding is different, but a full wedding day typically delivers 1,250–2,500+ fully edited images. I don’t believe in limiting your gallery to a set number—I deliver the images that tell the complete story of your day, from the big moments to the ones you may have missed.
How do we get our photos?
Your photos are delivered through a beautiful private online gallery where you can view, download, and share your images in high resolution. Your gallery also includes an integrated professional print lab, making it easy to order prints and artwork directly from your collection. Best of all, your gallery never expires, so you can return to your photographs for years to come.
Do you retouch photos?
Every image you receive is individually edited for color, exposure, tone, and consistency. Light retouching is included when needed, but I keep things natural—I want you to look like you.
Whats your turn around time?
You’ll receive a selection of sneak peeks within 24 hours of your wedding, so you have something beautiful to relive and share right away. Your complete wedding gallery is typically delivered within one month, with every image individually edited and ready to download, share, and print.
How do we book you?
Start by reaching out through my contact form with your wedding date, location, and a little about what you’re planning. Once we confirm availability and make sure we’re a good fit, your date is officially reserved with a signed agreement and non-refundable retainer.
Can you help us with planning?
Absolutely. I’m happy to help with locations, timelines, lighting, and planning your day around the best opportunities for photographs. With more than 250 weddings behind me, I’ve seen what works in all kinds of venues, environments, and conditions—and I’m always happy to share that experience to help your day run as smoothly as possible.
How far out do you book?
As far out as you need! Popular spring and fall dates tend to book the fastest, so once you have your date and venue in mind, I recommend reaching out. That said, I’m always happy to accommodate last-minute weddings and elopements when my schedule allows.
What should we do for an engagement session?
Make it personal. Choose a place that feels like you—somewhere meaningful to your relationship, a favorite place to explore, or simply a setting you love. Not sure where to go? I’m happy to suggest locations based on the mood you’re after, your style, or even a Pinterest board you send my way. We’ll work together to find the right setting, light, and timing for the two of you.
What should we wear?
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Consectetur libero id faucibus nisl tincidunt.
What is your photography style?
My approach is a blend of documentary and editorial photography. I want the majority of your day to unfold naturally, capturing real moments as they happen, while still stepping in with direction when it comes to portraits, beautiful light, and making the most of your surroundings. My background in nature and wildlife photography also influences the way I see a wedding—I love incorporating landscape, atmosphere, and a sense of place into the story.
What happens if it rains or the weather changes?
For weddings, we shoot rain or shine. After photographing more than 250 weddings, I’ve worked through just about every kind of weather and lighting condition imaginable. I’ll adapt, find the best available light, and work with whatever nature gives us. For engagement sessions, bridals, and other portrait sessions, if the weather isn’t cooperating, we can simply reschedule for another day.
Do we need a second photographer?
Not necessarily. I photograph most weddings on my own, but a second photographer can be a great addition for larger weddings, multiple locations, or when you want simultaneous coverage—like both partners getting ready at the same time. We can talk through your plans together and decide whether adding a second photographer would benefit your day.
Do you have backup equipment?
Absolutely. I always arrive with multiple professional camera bodies, lenses, batteries, memory cards, and backup equipment so a gear failure doesn’t become your problem. Your wedding only happens once, and being prepared for the unexpected is part of the job.
What happens if you can’t photograph our wedding?
In more than a decade and 250+ weddings, I’ve never missed a wedding I was booked to photograph. In the extremely unlikely event that an emergency prevents me from being there, I’ll do everything I can to arrange a trusted professional replacement with a similar level of experience and approach. I’ve built a strong network of professional photographers over the years, so there’s always a plan for the unexpected.
Do we get printing rights?
Yes. You’ll receive high-resolution digital files with personal printing rights, so you’re free to print your photographs wherever you choose. Your online gallery also includes a professional print lab where you can conveniently order high-quality prints and artwork directly from your gallery.
Can we get the RAW or unedited images?
Yes. Your final gallery is carefully curated and fully edited, but I’m happy to provide the RAW files upon request. I tend to overshoot intentionally so I never miss a moment—a wedding may result in 8,000+ photographs before being curated down to roughly 1,250–2,500 finished images. If you’d like the complete collection of RAW, uncurated files, they’re available for an additional fee.
Do you work from a shot list?
For post-ceremony family photos, absolutely. We’ll create a shot list beforehand so we can move through those groupings efficiently and make sure no one important is missed. For the rest of the day, I’m there to capture anything and everything as it unfolds. If you have certain styles, poses, or ideas you love, we can also work from a Pinterest board together so I understand the look you’re drawn to while still leaving room for spontaneous moments and creativity.
Can we meet before the wedding?
Yes, please! I actually prefer it. If we haven’t already spent time together during an engagement or bridal session, I’d love to meet before the wedding day. Whether it’s over coffee, a drink, or a quick video call, getting to know each other beforehand helps you feel more comfortable with me—and helps me better understand the two of you, your personalities, and what matters most to you on your wedding day.
What is required to book, and do you offer payment plans?
A 20% non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is divided into monthly payments leading up to the month of your wedding or session. If you need a different payment schedule, just ask—alternative arrangements may be available when agreed upon in advance.
